Hitting the sweet spotBy: Norm Foster
My wife and I decided to buy a kart after playing in some hire karts.
You know the slow governed gadgets.
With absolutely no knowledge of karts we bought a D/D KT100. dirt kart.
We had a small track up the road from us that was used to run oddessys around
and if you paid a small fee you could run your kart in between the hirers.
Got the kart running around the track not very well at all. I knew enough to
know that the jets had to be set correctly so out of the last corner before the
straight I am looking down at the jets as I am playing with them. Boom! Hit the
sweet spot and the wheels spun and launched this unbelievably quick monster
down
the straight. More than likely with my hand still on the carby I looked up and
noticed that the straight was rapidly ending. Big slide, big thud, big ouch.
Knocked down 4 bundles of 3 tires strapped together.
Was left with badly bruised ribs and a whole lot more respect for this little
Kart I just got.
By the way the kids were just amazed and kept going wow. wow.I was going ow.ow
